1 REPORT4+Glow: strikes in the last dayCross-border strike
Every figure is a count of news articles, not of casualties or verified incidents.
The War Room tracks armed conflicts around the world as they are reported: the Russia–Ukraine war, the Israel–Gaza war, the Sudan civil war, Myanmar, the Sahel, Yemen and the Red Sea, eastern Congo and more. Every five minutes it reads news searches in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Persian and Turkish, and international and Russian outlets, and keeps only reports of current fighting, airstrikes, drone and missile attacks, casualties, escalation and ceasefire talks.
Zoomed out, the map draws a line between the two sides of each conflict. Zoom in to see the places named in reports and dashed lines for cross-border strikes. Countries glow where strikes were reported in the last day. Each conflict gets a heat score from its last 24 hours of reports, with strikes and escalations weighted, and the overall level summarises reporting across all of them.
Every figure is a count of news articles, not of casualties or verified incidents. An AI model translates headlines and names each conflict and place, and it can be wrong; every report links to its publisher. For riots and unrest rather than war, see the World Riot Map and the UK Riot Map.
